Let’s preface this by admitting we’ve never read The Walking Dead comics, so anything that goes down on the AMC series generally takes us by surprise.

Dale (Jeffrey DeMunn) and Shane’s (Jon Bernthal) Season 2 deaths definitely shook us (well, Dale’s did; someone over at AMC spoiled Shane’s), but Lori’s (Sarah Wayne Callies) recent passing was seriously gut-wrenching.
