James Franco is not a stoner — or at least not anymore. Back in 2008, right before the release of Pineapple Express (in which he plays a pot dealer), the actor/student/writer/painter told USA Today, "I used to smoke weed, but I haven't done it in a long time. Everybody, even now, thinks, 'That guy is stoned.' It's just the way I talk, because I don't smoke weed. Somehow, there's something about me, the way I talk, that implies that I'm on drugs."

James is actually quite the scholar: The A-lister is currently getting his PhD in English at Yale.
