2012 Emmy Awards: 4 Surprise Nominations That Need to Happen This Year

Sure, every awards show has its fair share of snubs, but in recent years, there’s actually been an uptick in the number of surprising names among the list of Emmy nominees. Whether it’s a long overdue nomination or just a welcome change from the famous faces we see year over year, Emmy voters are spreading the love to more and more small-screen favorites.

The nominations are in, but before the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences makes its big announcement (July 19), here are four performances that we think deserve some Emmy attention!
