The Walking Dead: Dale, Shane, Lori, T-Dog, and Oscar
When: Season 2, Episode 11, “Judge, Jury, Executioner”
How: Dale (Jeffrey DeMunn) is disemboweled by a zombie that Carl (Chandler Riggs) had seen in the woods earlier that day. Daryl (Norman Reedus) shoots Dale to put him out of his misery. As with most Walking Dead deaths, it’s way gruesome and way sad.

How: After getting stabbed to death by his former best friend Rick (Andrew Lincoln), Shane (Jon Bernthal) comes back as a zombie. Carl takes out walker Shane with a shot to the head.

How: Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies) dies from blood loss during a C-section gone wrong. Carl shoots his mother in the head to prevent her from going to the walker dark side.

How: T-Dog (IronE Singleton) throws himself against a group of walkers to help Carol (Melissa McBride) escape. Talk about self sacrifice!

How: Oscar (Vincent M. Ward) is shot during the prison group’s raid on Woodbury to recover Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Glenn (Steven Yeun). He wasn’t around for very long, but he proved himself to be a downright decent former convict.
