Highlight: Romantic Engagements on Primetime Comedies
There were plenty of swoon-worthy moments on TV this year, but two engagements brought on the waterworks: Parks and Recreation's Ben (Adam Scott) and Leslie (Amy Poehler) and How I Met Your Mother's Robin (Cobie Smulders) and Barney (Neil Patrick Harris).
Both were a long time coming, but I still got swept up in the romantic moment, immediately reaching for a box of tissues and ugly-crying my way through the episodes' final minutes.
Lowlight: Community's Unknown Future
Community is one of the best shows on television, but NBC treated it like an ugly stepchild this year. After creator Dan Harmon stepped down, the network scheduled a shortened Season 4, which would premiere October 19 — in the Friday "death slot," natch — but then decided to push it again to February. And what did they bring back instead? Whitney. Oh, and they also extended the ever-hated show's season a few extra episodes, driving the knife in further.
Community’s amazing cast filmed a fantastic, super-meta video explaining that the show is coming back "someday." And I can't wait.
