The too-gorgeous-for-words actor has a bit of a reputation for saving lives. Not only was he caught on camera breaking up a street fight in New York City in 2011, but in April 2012 he saved a woman from being hit by a taxi cab. The lucky lady in question was British freelance journalist Laurie Penny, who tweeted about the incident moments after it happened. “I literally, LITERALLY just got saved from a car by Ryan Gosling. That actually just happened,” she wrote. “I was crossing 6th avenue in a new pink wig. Not looking the right way because I am from London. Ryan Gosling grabbed me away from a taxi.”

A woman near Penny during the lifesaving episode said it best: “You lucky bitch.”
