Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, 26, started acting when they were in diapers (literally, they were 9-months-old when they joined Full House in 1987), so it’s pretty impressive that their 23-year-old sister, Elizabeth, blew the critics away in her first major role — as Martha in the acclaimed 2011 psychological thriller Martha Marcy May Marlene. The movie will give you the chills, her post-traumatic stress is that visceral.

Lizzie dished to Marie Claire in November 2011, "I've always had a complex about being taken seriously. I never wanted anyone to think that I would use my family name to get me anywhere.” So instead she went to NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and spent a summer in Russia at the Moscow Art Theater School.

Lizzie’s breakout talent, which can be credited to her years spent honing her craft, is especially amazing considering mega-millionaire twins Mary-Kate and Ashley have garnered more praise for their fashion lines than their acting skills. (To be fair, New York Minute is an underappreciated classic... at least in the direct-to-DVD genre.)
