Chris and Liam Hemsworth: A Little Brotherly Competition
The Hemsworth brothers are taking Hollywood by storm. For reals.
Chris Hemsworth, 29, got his foot in the door in 2009 with roles in Star Trek and A Perfect Getaway. He then hit it mega-big in the 2011 summer blockbuster Thor, actually beating out Liam, 22, for the role. But Liam didn’t let that faze him: He scored his first big part in 2010’s The Last Song, opposite now-fiancée Miley Cyrus, and then one-upped Chris with the role of Gale Hawthorne in 2012’s The Hunger Games. Not to be outdone, Chris returned the volley with the box office killer The Avengers and the Kristen Stewart/Charlize Theron vehicle Snow White and the Huntsman. Yeah, these Aussie hunks are killin’ it.
“I’m reminded, now that my little brother’s working a lot, how much more interesting he is,” Chris joked to OUT magazine. “So I give him a punch when I see him.”
He explained to The Hollywood Reporter, “We’re competitive, but in the best way.”
