Felicity Huffman: Lynette Scavo
Like Teri, Felicity Huffman is bidding Desperate Housewives farewell with an award to her name — the 2005 Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. Now 49, Felicity is still happily married to Shameless actor William H. Macy, the father of her two daughters. With an Oscar nomination on her resume for her amazing portrayal of a transgender man in 2006’s Transamerica, she’ll have no trouble landing her next big role.
But back to the series — and its bittersweet end.
Felicity believes the show’s longtime fans will find the finale supremely satisfying. She tells Parade, “They actually hit something that I didn’t expect. It’s very heartfelt, melancholy, and very satisfying. They didn’t try and top it all. They didn’t try to put a button on it. Over the past eight years we’ve all had a romance with Desperate Housewives and it’s great when that romance ends so satisfactorily. And I don’t mean everybody hugs in the end. You just go, ‘Oh yes, it hits those sweet spots of satisfaction.’”
As for what she’ll take as a memento when the show ends, Felicity jokes that aside from Marcia Cross’s legs and Eva Longoria’s butt, she’d take the “really ugly couch in Tom and Lynette's den that Doug [Savant] and I always nap on. We're like the old couple. When they yell cut we go in and snooze for 3 minutes.”
