Randy Quaid, Older Brother of Dennis Quaid
This Oscar-nominated actor is sadly no stranger to embarrassing legal entanglements. In 2005, Randy sued Focus Features and the execs involved with the film Brokeback Mountain (which he had a role in), claiming they misrepresented how successful the film would be in order to pay him less for appearing in it.
Later, in 2009, Randy and wife Evi allegedly failed to pay a $10,000 hotel bill in Santa Barbara. The couple skipped out on numerous court appearances, and warrants were issued for their arrest in April 2010. Randy and Evi finally made it to court later that month with their attorney, and while charges were dismissed against Randy for lack of evidence, Evi was sentenced to three years' probation and 240 hours of community service.
Legal issues continued to plague the duo in September 2010, when they were arrested for illegally squatting on a Santa Barbara property. The following month, Randy and Evi were arrested at the Canadian-U.S. border while trying to claim refugee status in Canada out of fear of “Hollywood star whackers” trying to kill them.
