Damon Wayans: Actor, Producer, and Novelist
At the end of the third season of In Living Color, Damon Wayans chose to switch his focus from the small screen to the silver screen. He gave up his spot as a series regular, but continued to make guest appearances during the fourth season.
Damon spent much of the late ‘90s starring in films like The Last Boy Scout, Major Payne, and Blankman. However, he eventually transitioned back to TV, but this time as both an actor and producer. He created and starred in My Wife and Kids, which aired from 2001 to 2005 and earned him multiple awards, including a People’s Choice Award and a BET Comedy Award.
Damon also doubles as a father of four from his marriage to Lisa Thorner, whom he divorced in 2000. His son Damon Wayans Jr. now stars on the hit ABC sitcom Happy Endings. Damon Sr. also wrote a novel called Red Hats that was published in 2010.
