Jared Leto is truly dedicated to his craft, and for proof look no further than his ever-changing waistline.
The 40-year-old actor and musician, who rose to fame as Jordan Catalano on My So-Called Life, has gained and lost significant amounts of weight over the course of his career in an effort to bring added realism to his roles.
In 2006 he put on about 70 pounds to play John Lennon’s doughy murderer, Mark David Chapman, in Chapter 27. Now he’s fasting for the upcoming drama The Dallas Buyers Club, in which he portrays Rayon, a transsexual woman afflicted with AIDS. (Typically hale Matthew McConaughey has dropped upwards of 30 pounds for his starring role in the same film.)
