After Kristin broke his heart in Season 2, Stephen moved on with actress Hayden Panettiere, dating her for more than a year before their breakup in 2007. That same year, Stephen joined One Tree Hill as the romantic Chase Adams, and he stayed on the drama until the series finale on April 4, 2012.

Stephen is currently dating his former One Tree Hill co-star Chelsea Kane, who competed on Season 12 of Dancing With the Stars and now stars on ABC Family's Baby Daddy.
