Dr. Arden’s (James Cromwell) bloody mutants aside, one of the less attractive denizens of Briarcliff — solely in terms of her outward appearance — is Pepper, a gentle-natured microcephalic who has been framed for murder.

Actress Naomi Grossman doesn’t actually suffer from the neurodevelopmental disorder in real life; not surprisingly, her look is the product of some seriously gifted — and patient — makeup artists.
