A guy shaving his face is hardly news. A guy or gal getting a buzzcut is often surprising. But when celebs shave off their eyebrows, the result can be freaky!

Still, they’re professionals; sometimes a gig just requires browlessness, for one reason or another.

For example, one of our favorite statuesque Swedes, Malin Akerman, shaved her eyebrows for her role as a woman with alopecia in the film happythankyoumoreplease, written and directed by How I Met Your Mother star Josh Radnor. “I was a little nervous but the final look was kind of beautiful,” she told Fox News. She also realized the practicality of eyebrows. “When you’re in the shower, everything just drips into your eyes, and [you] realize what function your eyebrows actually have.”
