He destroyed Heidi’s friendship with Lauren and even spread nasty rumors that Lauren had made a sex tape. He and Heidi tied the knot in a quickie, margarita-driven ceremony in Mexico in November 2008, and then they did it all over again in April 2009 in a televised wedding that featured a lot of drama and way too much bling.

Now: In 2009 Heidi and Spencer competed on the second season of a ridiculous reality show called I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here, in which they were forced to survive in the jungle without modern luxuries. The couple quit the show on the second day, but returned and completed the season.

The craziness continued in mid-2010 when they broke up, filed for divorce, called it off, and then renewed their vows in a “private” beachfront wedding in November 2010 — a story they sold to Entertainment Tonight. In the middle of that tumultuous period, Spencer was arrested and jailed in Costa Rica for allegedly trying to bring a gun onto an airplane. As a result he can never go back to Costa Rica. Their loss.

According to a recent tweet, Spencer is only a few classes away from completing his degree at USC. He still uses crystals, which he calls “Christ rocks,” and he apparently attempted to apologize to Lauren Conrad on Twitter on her birthday this year.

She ignored him.
