Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes Settle Divorce, Bachelorette Emily Maynard Picks Her Final Two, Kourtney Kardashian Gives Birth: Week in Review, 7/13

On Monday, July 9, less than two weeks after Katie Holmes filed for divorce from Tom Cruise, the couple formerly known as TomKat revealed that they reached a settlement. Fresh off their speedy negotiations, the A-list exes released a joint statement: “We are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri's best interests. We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other's commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other's roles as parents.”
 
 

The terms of the settlement are confidential, but sources tell People and Us Weekly that Katie has been awarded primary custody of 6-year-old Suri. "She won and is happy. Very happy," an insider spilled to Us Weekly. "She can move on and finally live her life."

In other divorce news, Katie reportedly relied on Mission: Impossible tactics to orchestrate the sudden split, switching cell phones and moving into a new Manhattan apartment in the weeks before dropping the d-bomb on Tom. While Katie and Suri are having a blast in NYC, Tom is apparently developing great on-set chemistry with his Oblivion co-star.
