Which “Ballsy” TV Star Accidentally Exposed Himself to Oscar-Winner Jessica Lange?

As Evan tells Vulture, the pivotal ball-slip occurred as he filmed the scene in which Sister Jude (Jessica Lange) whips his character’s bare backside while journalist Lana (Sarah Paulson) looks on in horror.

“That was literally the first day of shooting. It’s embarrassing that I’m telling you this, but why not?” he says. “I had to wear a cock sock, right? And since I was wearing a hospital gown, I thought, Well, my front’s not going to be showing. It’s not a big deal. And when they bent me over [laughs], they could see my balls hanging down from the other side. The first day of shooting, and I flash Jessica Lange and Sarah Paulson my balls. Welcome to American Horror Story. It was ridiculous. I have to put on a cock sock and sheath my balls.”

Evan is feeling a newfound kinship with his co-stars, and Jessica and Sarah were consummate professionals about the cojone-sighting. “Once someone’s seen your balls, it’s over. It’s fine. Everything’s good,” she says. “They didn’t even say anything. Sarah just walked over after that take and kissed me on the cheek. I was like, Why? What’s happening? That’s when I realized. I was mortified.”

It’s not the first indignity on the American Horror Story set. He previously told Vulture that he had to coat his body with lube to — Season 1 spoiler alert! — slip into the gimp suit of the Rubber Man. (He does admit, however, that the full-body Vaseline was probably good for his skin. “You’re not like, ‘Ew, get it off of me.’ You’re more like, ‘This is kind of gross. I want to get this off as soon as possible. But maybe I can stop and get a sandwich first.’”)

He’s a trooper, folks. We can’t say we’d be laughing about it if it happened to us.
