When Victoria Grayson (Madeleine Stowe) reveals that Emily’s (Emily VanCamp) mother is still alive in the Season 1 finale, we toasted the Revenge writing staff. The show's been deliciously soapy all season long, and to bring back a character from the dead is such a tried-and-true gimmick in the soap world that it really works for Revenge.
