Zooey Deschanel is known almost as much for her long, thick dark brown hair as she is for her hilariously adorkable portrayal of Jess on New Girl.

So when she stepped out for the 2013 Vanity Fair Oscars bash on February 24 with what appeared to be a short new ’do (right), people were shocked. Shocked.

Zooey Deschanel may be "adorkable," but she's not afraid to call out some of her peers for being "much, much too skinny." Not only does she think it's unhealthy, she says it's unnecessary when it comes to building a successful career, like her own.

The New Girl star is on the February 2013 cover of Glamour; in the interview, she was asked if she feels pressure to look a certain way.
