In a perfect world, TV shows would be bulletproof, never vulnerable to the whims and fancies of trigger-happy network execs focused on the bottom line. Just think, we'd still have Veronica Mars, Pushing Daisies, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Freak and Geeks, My So-Called Life, etc.
