Is Katie Holmes American royalty? She's definitely been getting the bend-the-knee treatment after her split from Tom Cruise, and E! News feeds into that with a tour of a unit in her new apartment building in New York City.
A source told E! that Katie leased a two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath apartment in the Chelsea Mercantile for about $12,500 per month. One of Katie's new neighbors, Christopher Hyland, told E! it's a "joy" to have Katie in the building. "She is a jewel and class act," he said. He gave E! a tour of his own 4,000-square-foot pad, which is on a different floor from Katie's and — free publicity! — is on the market for $23 million.
"This building knows celebrities from the day that it opened," he said.
