There’s a lot of love in both the Vampire Diaries and Originals universes, and one of the shining relationships to emerge thanks to the shows has been Joseph Morgan and Persia White. The two met while they were on TVD, dated for a few years, got engaged, and finally tied the knot last July. How is married life going for Joseph and his lady love?

“We’re still newlyweds ‘cause you’re newlyweds for the first year I’m told,” Joseph, who plays Klaus Mikaelson, told Just Jared. “It’s terrific. We lived together before we were married, so it’s not different in that sense but it’s very different calling her my wife. And that’s still a big thrill for me.”

That being said, Joseph admitted that he hadn’t always considered marriage as something he’d want to experience in life. Of course, that all changed when he met Persia.

“I never really thought I would be married. Not that I was against it, my parents were married all the way up until my dad died, but I think I’ve always felt like that was something that more straight laced people do,” Joseph revealed. “But then I met Persia and she’s wild, interesting, passionate, fiery, and amazing. So I thought, ‘Alright, if it’s with her, that’s alright. I could do that.’ ‘Cause it’s still kind of this, eye of the hurricane thing, which is amazing.”

Geez, Joseph is totally gushing over Persia — which makes us love the 33-year-old actor even more. In fact, the British stud admits he and Persia do “almost everything together” including painting, playing music, and making films.

“She’s kind of [an] incredible muse for me as well,” Joseph continued. “And I think I’m for her as well. We encourage and inspire each other and that’s what I’ve always really wanted. But I saw marriage as being something else but my marriage is that, which is incredible to me. It’s great.”

And the award for cutest couple in this history of the world goes to...
