New Pros For Dancing With the Stars Season 19? “There’s a Change in the Air”
The Dancing With the Stars Season 19 premiere is coming on September 15, but the cast announcement is officially less than a month away on September 4. We’re obviously excited to see what’s coming, but there have been whispers about a pro shakeup.
New showrunner Rob Wade recently told TheTVPage they have a core group that they love, but they’re always looking for fresh cast members. On that note, the great Kristyn Burtt returned with another 15-second dance scoop on the pro topic, then teased more details on Twitter.
"We've got Rob Wade coming into the producer position,” Kristyn says in her brief Instagram video on August 4. “I heard he met with all the talent this summer, some we haven't seen in a long time but they're still under contract. Maybe we'll see some new pros, because there's a change in the air."
In replies to fans, she shared more details, like "A few pro slots open because a few pros taking time off." @DWTSGossip noted "Considering there are 2-3 job openings, I'm not surprised. It will come down to celebs casted eventually." Kristyn replied, "Yes!"
One fan, who apparently shares our taste, said she'd like to see Dmitry Chaplin return as pro. Yes, please! But Kristyn replied, "He is probably not under contract anymore. It's been a long time since he's been on the show." So maybe Rob met with more recent pros, like Anna Trebunskaya, who had a baby in January but might be interested in returning to the dance floor.
Which “old” and more “new” pros would you like to see in the Season 19 lineup? Maybe a return for Lacey Schwimmer? Chelsie Hightower? Gleb Savchenko? Lindsay Arnold? Sasha Farber? Tyne Stecklein? Will Kym Johnson ever return, or is she 100 percent tied to DWTS Australia? Is there any hope at all for Edyta Sliwinska to come back? How about pro troupe members — would you like to see any of them promoted to competing status in S19?
