UPDATE 1: It's a go! Deadline says Kiefer has signed on and FOX is going ahead with 24 as a limited series.

UPDATE 2: According to Entertainment Weekly, FOX will air 12 episodes of 24: Live Another Day in May 2014, as part of its new directive to air event programming in the summer. As EW notes, "Unlike what happened in the regular series — where each episode represented an hour in Bauer’s action-packed life — the new version will jump around during the day."

Original story:

Here's the silver lining for Kiefer Sutherland and fans — his FOX show Touch was just canceled, but Deadline says FOX is looking to bring back 24 as a limited series.

Kiefer is in talks to return as Jack Bauer. 24 ended its eight-season run in 2010, and while movie talks have stalled, Deadline says showrunner Howard Gordon pitched a plan to start the show from scratch with a new story arc. Let's cross our fingers and hope for the best!

Would you watch a new chapter of 24, or do you think its "time" has passed?
