Dawson’s Creek  and Apartment 23 may seem like nothing more than distant memories for James Van Der Beek, but it looks like he’s getting another chance to brush up his acting skills.

The Wrap reports that CBS has cast James in the pilot for Friends With Better Lives.

The half-hour comedy follows a group of 30-something friends, all of whom believe that the grass is greener wherever their friends are living.

The multi-camera show was written by Friends producer Dana Klein, who will executive produce, and will star a who’s who of actors who used to be on great shows but have been busy having babies, doing Pilates, and going to Coachella.

This group includes Entourage’s Kevin Connolly, Whitney’s Zoe Lister-Jones, Roswell’s Majandra Delfino, Brooklyn Decker, and Rick Donald.

Friends With Better Lives will air on Sunday nights on CBS.
