James Franco isn’t here to please you. He’s here to play his music really loud at all hours, dress up like Riff Raff, and write poetry, man.

Oh, he’s also here to talk trash about your movies sometimes.

The 35-year-old star, who has plenty of laudable acting credits on his resume, from his days as burnout Daniel Desario on Freaks and Geeks to his Oscar-nominated turn in 127 Hours, has also made some less-than-stellar choices in his career, and he’s more than happy to put the people responsible for those blemishes on his CV on blast.

In a new interview with GQ, Franco admitted that much of what people see of him is a performance, and that he’s open to the jabs that come along with taking on such a seemingly pretentious undertaking.

"My public persona is something that is only partially constructed by me, so if people want to mock that, it's fine. I mock it,” he said.

James added that he’s not above mocking the work of others as well. When asked to name the film that he’s participated in that he likes least, James had no trouble coming up with a response.

"'Your Highness'? That movie sucks," he lamented. "You can't get around that."
