Donald Trump just named another country star as the winner of The Celebrity Apprentice
Trace Adkins beat Penn Jillette to win All-Star, aka the 13th season of The Apprentice and Season 6 of The Celebrity Apprentice. Trace was previously the runner-up on the first season of Celebrity Apprentice, which Piers Morgan won. Penn previously took fifth place on Season 5.
Trace raised more than $1.5 million for his charity, the American Red Cross. Penn raised more than $700,000 for Opportunity Village, which supports workers with developmental disabilities.
In the final challenge, to make a new ice cream for Walgreens, Penn's Magic Swirtle outsold Trace's Maple Macadamia Mash-Up — so he won the final task — but Trace ultimately raised more money, and Ivanka said he should win since this show is about raising money for charity. (Plus, Penn wrote some not-so-flattering things about Trump and The Apprentice in his book.)
Trace surpassed fellow country star, and Season 4 winner, John Rich as the show's top earner, which probably means Donald will tap more country stars for future seasons, since they seem to do very well. (How about more female country stars, since only one woman has won Celebrity Apprentice in six seasons?)
Also on the finale, Trump gave Lil Jon $100,000 for his charity, the American Diabetes Association, and $20,000 to the charities of La Toya Jackson, Dennis Rodman and Gary Busey since they assisted the finalists but hadn't raised any money up to that point.
Are you happy that Trace won, or should Penn have taken the win?
