While Michael Douglas has been promoting his HBO film Behind the Candelabra, he's also been fielding questions on his wife's health. Catherine Zeta-Jones entered a mental health facility on April 29 as part of her ongoing treatment for Bipolar II disorder. Michael told reporters Catherine would be coming home today (May 21).
"She's doing a really good job of getting balanced. I'm proud of her," he told People. He told Extra, she's "doing wonderful," adding, “She’s got herself worked out with her meds and she’s raring to go!”
It's good to see her being so proactive with her health. She’s been open about her struggle with Bipolar II disorder, and it never hurts to see a public figure of her stature — Oscar winner for Chicago, etc. — bring awareness to mental health. Good luck to both Catherine and Michael!
