Former pro baseball player Jose Canseco is being investigated by law enforcement after a woman has accused him of sexual assault, according to TMZ.
The woman alleges that the incident happened in Las Vegas on May 10.
The accuser is said to be a fitness instructor who lives in Vegas, TMZ is reporting.
For his part, the 48-year-old Jose says this accusation is coming out of left field (so to speak).
"[The accuser] told police that I druged [sic] her and then raped her," he writes on Twitter. "Hmmmmm. Let's find out what really happened."
He also apparently called out his accuser by name, tweeting: "I dare Susie Bell to tell the truth."
Jose had a distinguished baseball career, earning the MVP award in 1988, along with two World Series victories. However, he has become more famous for his allegations about rampant steroid use in baseball, including his own.
He appeared as a contestant on Celebrity Apprentice in 2011.
Jose, who is twice-divorced, has had his share of legal issues. He was charged with ramming his first wife's car with his own car in 1992, and then pled no contest to hitting his second wife in 1997. In 1989, he was arrested for carrying a loaded semi-automatic pistol in his car.
We hope to learn more about this new situation soon.
