UPDATE: The night is almost upon us! In case you missed it when the news broke, we'll get to see the Matthews family all grown up this Friday, June 27 at 9:45 p.m. We can hardly contain our excitement!

Original Story, November 2013

You'd think that after waiting 13 years for Cory and Topanga to come back into our lives, another few months would be no problem. But once we heard the announcement that Disney Channel was developing Girl Meets World, a spin-off of Boy Meets World, all powers of control left the building. But while new info about the show keeps rolling in, there's one question weneed an answer to: When does it premiere?

For fans-to-be who didn't watch the original show, here's the quick run-down: Cory Matthews (Ben Savage) and Topanga Lawrence (Danielle Fishel) met in middle school, when he was kinda geeky and she was super out there. They started dating after a bit, went through some rough patches, and fell in love, eventually getting married.

Also in the mix were Cory's hot and undisciplined older brother Eric (Will Friedle); Cory's best friend/screw up Shawn Hunter (Rider Strong); Shawn's half-brother (who came along later), Jack (Matthew Lawrence); Jack and Eric's roommate Rachel (Maitland Ward); and a mess of other fun characters, including Shawn's girlfriend Angela, and the centerpiece of all their lives, Mr. George Feeny (William Daniels), who was a teacher and guide for all who sat in his classroom.

The characters were our friends and crushes (hello Shawn!), so the prospect of them returning has been a great one for us. Fast forward a dozen years, and Cory and Topanga are married, living in New York City with their daughter Riley (Rowan Blanchard), and younger son, Louis. While we're not sure yet what Topanga's job is, Cory is a middle school history teacher — and Riley is in his class!

The crew filmed the pilot back in March, and as of June 2013, Disney has ordered the show's first season. And though it was originally thought that it would start filming this summer, Danielle Fishel revealed that she was taking a short honeymoon after her October 2013 wedding so that she could be back in time for November's filming kick off!

So, let's do the math: The pilot is done, the plot is set, and filming begins, um, now. When will it air? While we're dying for an exact date, execs are still saying "some time in 2014." Ugh! Life is so unfair.

Will you watch Girl Meets World when it premieres in 2014?!
