A certain movie star's self-esteem doesn't appear to be as high as it should.

The 46-year-old Salma Hayek gave birth to her daughter, Valentina, in 2007, and now Salma tells Glamour that pregnancy allowed her to see herself in a very different way.

"I gained so much weight, I got an opportunity to see myself completely disfigured in many different ways  for a very good reason  and I don't regret it for a second," she says of putting on 50 pounds during pregnancy.

"That's when I started appreciating my body," the Grown Ups 2 star explains. "The things that I used to criticize, they were not that bad after all."

Salma acknowledges that it's difficult for women to live up to the pressure of looking a certain way.

"We've got to fight for our confidence every day in modern life because we live in a society that is very harsh to women," Salma says. "You have to be smart and successful and a good mother and beautiful and young and skinny forever."

It's great that pregnancy changed Salma's way of looking at herself. Still, if she thinks she looked disfigured, then she has a weird definition of "disfigured."
