The Duchess of Cambridge was looking fabulous in pink at Queen Elizabeth's birthday parade in London Saturday.
Kate rode an open-topped carriage and later joined three generations of the royal family on the balcony at Buckingham Palace. This wasn't just a big day for Queen Elizabeth, it was Kate's last official engagement before going on maternity leave to prepare for her role as a royal mother.
Stylish as usual, Kate paired a pale pink coat from Alexander McQueen with an older, favorite headpiece — a Jane Corbett hat trimmed with lace that she wore at a palace garden party last year.
From the carriage, Kate waved while her brother-in-law Prince Harry took them along the Mall to Horseguards Parade where the marching and drills took place. Along the route, enthusiastic crowds cheered for Kate. As for husband William, he was looking dashing in his ceremonial Colonel of the Irish Guards uniform while riding alongside father Prince Charles.
The Queen's husband, Prince Philip, 92, was absent because he's still recovering from abdominal surgery.
The one problem: none of us were invited to the fabulous royal engagement!
