After making money off the pornography of others for years, Joe Francis has successfully stopped his own sex tape from becoming public.
Joe, who made the home video with girlfriend and Couples Therapy co-star Abbey Wilson, has gotten some help from friends in high places, who have ensured the video will never see the light of day.
The tape, which was recorded on Abbey's iPad, was reportedly stolen from the model's bag at LAX earlier this month, prompting Joe to threaten legal action against the thief.
The tape has miraculously resurfaced just days after the premiere of Couples Therapy, and, thanks to a bizarre coincidence (and definitely not a publicity stunt), a friend of Joe's has ponied the cash to keep the tape off the market.
According to TMZ, Vivid Entertainment founder Steve Hirsch paid an undisclosed sum for Joe's tape and delivered it back to its rightful owner. Steve also promised he'd never release a copy of the tape, despite its moneymaking potential.
While most people would go ahead and call the cops on the blackmailing thief, nobody's involved the authorities, but don't worry, Steve has an answer for that.
"Because of the time-sensitive nature of the situation I made a decision to expedite the process and return the movie to its original owner."
And with the tape go our dreams of ever seeing "Joe Gone Wild."
