All hail the queen!
Last night, a new member of American pageant royalty was crowned, as Miss Connecticut Erin Brady, became the latest woman to earn the coveted Miss USA title.
People reports that the 25-year-old beauty queen took over the crown from current Miss USA, Nana Meriwether, at Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on Sunday night.
During her tenure as Miss USA, Erin will raise awareness for breast and ovarian cancers, conducting nationwide speaking engagements and traveling around the world on other charitable missions, while calling the posh NYC apartment provided to her by the Miss USA foundation home.
The competition's first runner-up, Miss Alabama Mary Margaret McCord, will take over Erin's duties should she be unable to complete the full year. Last year, first runner-up Nana Meriwether took over the Miss USA crown from acting titleholder Olivia Culpo when she won Miss Universe during her reign.
Last night's other big winners included Miss Utah Marissa Powell, who won Miss Photogenic, and Miss Oregon Gabrielle Neilan, who won Miss Congeniality.
