After pictures surfaced showing what appeared to be a disturbing fight between celebrity chef Nigella Lawson and her husband, Charles Saatchi, the law has finally caught up with the aggressor.
The photos, which showed Charles with his hands around his wife's neck, were initially explained away by the ad exec and art collector in a statement to the London Evening Standard. "About a week ago, we were sitting outside a restaurant having an intense debate about the children, and I held Nigella's neck repeatedly while attempting to emphasize my point. There was no grip, it was a playful tiff. The pictures are horrific but give a far more drastic and violent impression of what took place."
Apparently, he's the only one under the impression that the fight was entirely playful, as his wife has moved her two children, Cosima and Bruno, from their shared home and are staying with friends indefinitely.
Following a five-hour questioning session, British police have also issued Charles a caution for assault, which he has accepted, according to Us Weekly.
The charge, which carries no fine or imprisonment, is essentially a ticket telling you that you should never have assaulted your wife and then lied about it.
We hope the family can get the help they need.
