Ariana Grande may seem like the model of self-confidence, but she reveals that during her days on Victorious, she was anything but.

Ariana, who starred on the Nickelodeon hit from 2010-2013, reveals to Seventeen (via Us Weekly) that while she was filming the show, she was relentlessly bullied by one of her colleagues on set.

Although Ariana never directly names the bully, she says of the experience, "I worked with someone who told me they'd never like me. But for some reason, I just felt like I needed her approval. So I stared changing myself to please her. It made me stop being social and friendly. I was so unhappy."

The 19-year-old Florida native, who now stars on her own Nick show, Sam & Cat, says that now, when faced with adversity, she looks to strong female role models to inform her behavior.

"I'm a big perfectionist!" she reveals. "I'm trying to channel super-confident women like Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, and Beyonce, because I realized that if you want something, you really have to go for it, just like they do."
