Martha Stewart may not always come across as the warm, fuzzy type, but she's revealing her softer side in showing support for her fellow domestic doyenne, Paula Deen.

Us Weekly reports that during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live!, Martha expressed her sympathy for Paula to host Andy Cohen.

"I feel sorry for Paula Deen," explained Martha. "She's a public figure. And I know you have to be extremely careful being a public figure."

71-year-old Martha knows a thing or two about protecting herself from scrutiny, following her 2004 stint behind bars for insider trading and subsequent rebranding campaign.

When asked if Paula deserved to lose sponsors following her admission of using a racial slur, Martha gave the following carefully executed answer:

"I don't want to say whether I agree or not. I just feel you have to really watch yourself especially especially in this day an age, with cameras all over you and Google." She added, "What I just said… It'll be there forever."
