Johnny Depp and Amber Heard may have been hot and heavy for what seems like an eternity in Hollywood time, but prior to the pair's coupling, Johnny was still dealing with an emotional split from his long-time partner, Vanessa Paradis.
Johnny, who has two children — Jack, 11 and Lily-Rose, 14 — with Paradis, was with the model/singer for 14 years prior to their split in 2012, although he's remained mum about the split, and its impact on the couple's kids, until now.
According to People, during his Monday interview with Charlie Rose, Johnny admitted that he knew he had to be honest with both himself and his children, although he could not have foreseen their reaction to the news of their parents' breakup.
"When you have children, there is no room for lies, no room for anything but the truth. Anything other than that is a bad example, I believe," the Lone Ranger star explained.
"We were just very truthful with them and they were just incredibly understanding, incredibly accepting. I was extremely proud of them, the way they dealt with it."
