ABC Family has canceled The Lying Game after two seasons, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The show's star Alexandra Chando has taken to Instagram to express her appreciation to the fans. "To our awesome #lyinggame fans, thank you for these two amazing seasons. Unfortunately, ABC Family has decided not to bring us back for a third season."
"We so wanted to do 10 more for you guys!" Alexa continues. "Thanks for your support, and keep up with the cast to see what’s next for us! Xx.”
Wetpaint Entertainment spoke to Lying Game star Allie Gonino last month, and it sounded like the writing was already on the wall at that time about the show's fate.
"I think all of us would love to come back and do another season 'cause we love [the city of] Austin and we love the show, but we're not gonna hold our breath in case it turns out to be an unfortunate situation," Allie told us.
As far as whether she was stressed about the show's impending cancellation, Allie told us, "I'm just chillin'" and that "I'm having a lot of fun doing music." So it sounds like the cast is taking the news in stride.
The show, which premiered in August 2011, centered on foster kid Emma who learns about her identical twin, Sutton, and her mysterious life.
Finding out about show cancellation news can be a painful game.
