If you though Annie and Auggie were going to have a drama-free relationship on Season 4 of USA's Covert Affairs (premiering Tuesday, July 16 at 9 p.m. ET), then think again because for this couple, it only gets more complicated  especially when buried secrets come to light.

"They work in a very tough place to maintain a relationship," Christopher Gorham told Wetpaint Entertainment on the set of Covert Affairs in Toronto. "There are a lot of secrets that are coming into the light this season that affect things. There are consequences, and the relationship turns tricky very quickly. It gets difficult."

The Season 4 premiere picks up where Annie and Auggie left off — at Annie's tiny apartment — but the pillow talk doesn't last long for these two CIA operatives, whose worlds are quickly turned upside down by a shocking announcement from Arthur (Peter Gallagher). It turns out that Season 4 is the season of secrets — and everyone has a dirty little secret buried in the past, even Auggie.

"Arthur knows things about Auggie, big dark things, that Annie doesn’t know," series star Piper Perabo told Wetpaint. "How Annie finds out, and what she finds out, is what the season’s about."

However, it's not all doom and gloom for Annie and Auggie (affectionately known as Walkerson). Having seen the premiere episode of Season 4, Wetpaint can reveal that there are more than a few moments that will have Annie and Auggie fans smiling at their TV screens.

"You have two people who have great chemistry and get along really well and work together really well and become very close friends, but they've always been in other relationships with other people so they weren't available," explained Christopher. "When they finally reach a moment in time where they are both available they end up coming together and, and really falling in love. We're just following through on that."

He added: "Them falling in love doesn't really change the show.  [It] doesn't really change them as much as they still work together really well.  They still are great friends, and it doesn't become that kind of that sappy kind of teenage movie or that kind of weak jealousy thing of, 'What are you doing? Why are you home late?' That kind of stuff doesn't really seep into it."

But even Piper admitted, "It’s impossible to date Annie Walker." (Truer things have never been said.) So Operatives, you may want hold onto your seats. It's going to be a bumpy ride.
