How do you solve a problem like Amanda Bynes?
California authorities may need extra time to answer that question. The Los Angeles Times reports that they might extend the troubled starlet's psychiatric hold to two weeks — perhaps because she's showing signs of schizophrenia, as TMZ reports.
Cops detained Amanda on Monday night after she started a fire in the driveway of an elderly woman's house in Thousand Oaks, Calif., putting her under a 5150, an involuntary psychiatric hold.
5150 holds are supposed to last only 72 hours, but a source tells the newspaper that the authorities could keep her for 14 days for a proper mental health evaluation. They would just need to prove that the 27-year-old is a danger to herself and others.
Start printing up those "Free Amanda" t-shirts now, but only if you plan on staying off Los Angeles roadways and New York City sidewalks.
