We can't imagine Kristen Bell's voice being anything other than the perfectly-pitched signature sound of Gossip Girl, but if she keeps having babies, she may end up closer to the Barry White end of the vocal range.
The Veronica Mars star, who recently welcomed daughter Lincoln with fiancé Dax Shepard, revealed to PEOPLE that motherhood changed so many things about her body, but not necessarily ones she anticipated.
“The pregnancy did change my voice. It made it deeper,” said Kristen. “There were more womanly tones when I did one recording while I was extremely pregnant. After I had the baby, I had to go back and re-record those lines so they matched. There was something different about my voice.”
While she's admitted in previous interviews that she has made a conscious effort not to unduly stress herself out in an attempt to lose her baby weight, the vocal changes were not something she could let slide.
“There was something more ‘Mommy’ about my voice and we had to fix it. I certainly didn’t intend that, and when you heard it, you couldn’t really place why it was different but it was. It was one of those hormonal things that happen, I guess.”
As for how motherhood is treating her in general, Kristen revealed that despite the diaper changes and sleepless nights, she and Dax are on cloud nine.
“It is amazing to see him with her. To have something alive that is part of both of us is a really lovely feeling.”
