Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke are both taking stage for the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. — but that doesn't necessarily mean that they'll be friendly to one another!

That's because in addition to their being VMA performers, the two music stars are also competitors in the award show's newest category: Best Song of the Summer.

Miley's entry is "We Can't Stop," and Robin's is, of course, "Blurred Lines." But they'll also have to contend with One Direction's "Best Song Ever," Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding's "I Need Your Love," Selena Gomez's "Come & Get It," and Daft Punk's "Get Lucky."

Can't say we see a shoo-in winner here! We're thinking that whoever wins that hotly-contested Moonman will be the recipient of more than a few icy glares.

Be sure to check out their performances as well as those of Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and Kanye West as the 2013 VMAs air on MTV August 25 at 9 p.m.
