There are few couples on television right now that we ‘ship harder than Parenthood’s Amber and Ryan, but TVLine is now reporting that things could get dicey for the beloved pair once Season 5 of the grossly underrated drama premieres on September 26 on NBC.

The site reports that producers have cast Jane By Design’s Matthew Atkinson as Zach, the drummer in the band fronted by another new arrival, Oliver, played by All American Rejects‘ Tyson Ritter.

Apparently unable to resist the allure of the cute drummer (uh, can we blame her?) Amber and Zach bond while he and his bandmates are recording at the Luncheonette. As can be expected, army vet Ryan (Matt Lauria) isn't thrilled to learn about his gal’s new “friend.”

What’s more? It doesn’t look like Zach is a fleeting companion either. According to TVLine, Atkinson has been booked for a “multi-episode arc,” while Lauria is rumored to be sticking around for at least half of the season.

Do you think Amber and Ryan will be able to withstand a potential new love interest? Tell us your thoughts and feelings below!
