Amanda Bynes left rehab yesterday — but just for a short trip from one facility to another.

A source tells TMZ that her mother, who has conservatorship over the troubled former actress, has taken Amanda from a treatment center in Ventura County to one at UCLA.

Photographers captured the 27-year-old shielding her face with a blanket while entering an SUV yesterday, August 15. (All that's visible is what looks like a royal blue wig.)

The site reports that her mom wanted Amanda moved because she believes UCLA has one of the best psychiatric facilities in the country and that she was only moved yesterday because the center couldn't accommodate her until then.

Amanda was hospitalized through an involuntary psychiatric hold in late July after starting a fire in a random California woman's driveway. She was reportedly put on schizophrenia medication which has caused a "breakthrough" in her treatment. And a week ago, on August 9, a judge granted her mom conservatorship, i.e. the deciding voice in matters relating to Amanda's health and finances.

Amanda’s downward spiral began in 2012, after the 26-year-old was arrested for DUI.  At the time, she was better known for her bizarre Twitter and posing for Maxim than she was for her acting, since she’d retired from the biz in 2010. Amanda was charged for two different hit-and-runs, then had her car impounded for driving with a suspended license. Things got worse in 2013, when she started calling anyone and everyone "ugly" on Twitter. In May, she was arrested after throwing a bong out the window of her Manhattan apartment for marijuana possession. Just two months later, Amanda set the fire that landed her in psychiatric care.

Glad to hear Amanda is making progress and apparently getting the best treatment possible.
