One day you're a big-shot rapper performing for millions of viewers at the VMAs, the next you're being sued for 76 grand. Sorry 'bout that, Drake.

TMZ reports that the Drake's former stylist, Michael Raphael, is suing him, claiming that the 26-year-old rapper owes him $76,490.

Michael says that Drake hired him in August 2012 for "consulting services" — including styling, clothing, branding, photography, graphic design, the works — at a rate of $39,583 per month. (How do we get that gig?)

But the problem is, Drake didn't pay him for the month of December… or so Michael alleges.

In addition to Michael's monthly salary, Drake allegedly also owes him for almost $40,000 in additional shopping bills and other expenses, adding up to that sum of $76,490.

In filing the suit, Michael also included copies of the receipts from shopping trips he made on Drake's behalf — dropping $1,162 at Nike and $1,483 at Diesel, for example.

The Canadian rapper, meanwhile, just performed "Started from the Bottom" and "Hold On, We're Going Home" at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards last night — both tracks from his just-released third studio album, Nothing Was the Same.

Guess Drake either has to pay up or lawyer up now!
