Music producer Mike WiLL Made It has reportedly released Miley Cyrus's single “23” so if you were patient and waited for the official version, now’s the time! And if you want more details on what Miley has in store, we’ve got the Bangerz track listing.
The video referenced in this article is no longer available because of, YouTube writes, “a copyright claim by IFPI.” For those of us not up on our musical acronyms, the IFPI is the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. Miley has yet to publicly comment on the leak of the single.
ORIGINAL STORY (8/27/2013)
In Miley Cyrus news that has nothing to do with latex or foam fingers, the pop star’s latest single “23” has leaked online! The track, which features Wiz Khalifa and Juicy J, starts with the same deep-voiced narration we heard at August 25’s MTV Video Music Awards.
“I be in the club, standing on the couch. In them wolf greys like it’s my house,” Miley sing-talks while “I’m home” echos in the background. Later, she explains she’s “MC Hammer fly.” Do with that what you will.
The song, which joins “Wrecking Ball” as the latest single from Bangerz, is certainly a departure from her previous work (no country twang “Party in the U.S.A.” anthem here) but it does seem to fit the tone we’d expect from an album called Bangerz.
As of publishing, Miley hasn’t said anything publicly about the leak. She did take to the internet earlier in the day to share photos from the filming of her music video for “23.” Whether or not she’ll be as upset over the unexpected leak of a single as Lady Gaga, Cher, or Kanye West have been remains to be seen.
Then again, perhaps this leak isn’t exactly news to Miley. After all, she’s currently the living example of “no press is bad press,” what with her eyebrow-raising VMA performance on August 25 that’s got everyone talking (including us!). Having your latest song hit the interwebz amid so much media attention couldn’t hurt, right?
Bangerz is due out Tuesday, October 8, in case you needed more reminding.
