It’s been quite a week for Miley Cyrus — and it’s only Tuesday. The 20-year-old singer delivered a 2013 MTV Video Music Awards performance full of twerking and tongue on Sunday, and while there has been much backlash a few celebs are on her side.
"I really thought the collaboration with Miley was amazing!" Selena Gomez told E! News of Miley and Robin Thicke’s duet. "Loved! I thought Robin should have won." In fact, you can watch Selena and Taylor Swift rocking out to “We Can’t Stop” here. (These two weren't the only ones watching. According to Deadline, the VMAs had an impressive 5.2 rating amongst 18- to 49-year-olds, better than any other show that week.)
While Kelly Osbourne thinks her friend should put her tongue back in her mouth, she also wants everyone to back off Miley.
Miley’s fellow 20-somethings weren’t the only ones who stuck up for her. While much of Twitter was filled with jokes at the former Hannah Montana star’s expense (as Miley herself pointed out, her performance generated more tweets than the Super Bowl), a few celebs tweeted that the reactions were over the top. We rounded them up below.
