UPDATE: She's out! Amanda was the first evicted houseguest during Week 10's double eviction.
Amanda Zuckerman — aka “Demanda” and one half of the enduring showmance “McCranda” — has been a focal point of Big Brother 15 from the start. She’s definitely a power player. She loves to use others to do her dirty work, she manipulates everyone, she’ll bully when she feels threatened, and she even managed to win a competition right when she needed it.
So could she actually win this puppy?
We’ll see, but not only is Amanda adept at keeping herself alive (despite all logic dictating she should be targeted), there’s a conspiracy theory out there saying she was pre-selected to win the season.
Amanda, 28, a real estate agent originally from Long Island and now living in Boynton Beach, Florida, started out as one of the good guys (as opposed to, say, Jeremy McGuire and Aaryn Gries). A lot of fans were rooting for her and McCrae Olson to go far. But after Jeremy’s crew left, Amanda and Helen Kim took over the house, with Amanda using a very strong hand that eventually stole Aaryn away and pushed Helen out the door.
America, as MVP, put Amanda on the block twice, but the houseguests didn’t bite. (Now some fans are petitioning to get Amanda kicked off the show.) The HGs were afraid of her temper and power, and left her alone.
Amanda eventually made what seemed to be a strong 3AM alliance with her main man McCrae; plus her loyal-to-the-brink-of-insanity buddy Andy Herren; and Aaryn, who won all the competitions and did their dirty work. But on Week 9, when Elissa Slater won Head of Household and Judd Daugherty returned to the game, 3AM folded.
At this point, Aaryn and Andy are on the block together and it’s looking like Aaryn will leave on August 29. Andy has formed a new alliance, called “The Exterminators” — but Andy being Andy, if Amanda or McCrae wins the Week 10 HoH, he’ll swear he was always loyal to McCranda and just string along the others.
Could Amanda save herself past Week 10? If so, it might give more credence to the rumor making the rounds last month. On July 23, a former employee of CBS called "Hailey Jones" posted a note on Facebook saying Amanda has been friends with Big Brother executive producer Allison Grodner for years and was pre-chosen to win the $500,000 prize.
"I, until recently was involved in the selection process for the BB 2013 season houseguests. Let me fill you in on who is going to win this season, it has already been pre-determined. Amanda Zuckerman will be the Big Brother winner and in the near future you will see how upcoming twists will work in her favor, especially if she gets into a situation where she's close to being evicted.
In case any of you are thinking that I am wrong and that Elissa Slater will win because she has been pre-chosen by CBS, you are half right. Elissa was pre-chosen by BB Production Crew, but not for winning the $500,000.00. Elissa was chosen to be a distraction as to the true person who has been pre-chosen to be the winner of BB15, and that is Amanda."
Amanda managed to win her very first challenge right when she needed it — using the Week 9 Power of Veto to save herself and McCrae. To some fans, it was fishy. Then again, you could argue Elissa winning HoH right when she needed it, and popular Judd returning from jury were also fishy. Rigged? Coincidence? Fate? Motivation at work? ThatAmanda wins Facebook post could just be a crazy conspiracy theory, but Gossiping Pens claims The Powers That Be have a back-up plan in case it doesn't work. Maybe Elissa wins? Judd? Andy? (Please not Andy. He’s such a rat.)
Amanda is not exactly loved by everyone in the house, but she is given credit for her manipulation skills. Some HGs have said, if she gets to the end, they would vote for her to win. So if she does win, it could just be because she played the game that needed to be played this season.
BB15 is going to be the longest season to date (lucky us!) — it started June 26 and will end on September 18. Time will tell who will win, then we can backtrack and see if the puzzle pieces fit or if we want to cry “rigged.”
